Same World Same Chance is supported by a Canadian Board created in 2010. The board members come from the Stratford area and are currently based in various cities across Canada. Each member has a background in a particular field -- including law, international development, public health, education, media and agriculture -- and brings their knowledge and skills to the project.
Please contact any board member in your field or area for more information or if you would like to get involved.

I hold a Bachelor of Music from McGill University and a Masters of Arts from York University. I am currently in my first year of Law at the University of Western Ontario. An interest of mine is Charity and non-for profit Law particularly with arts organizations and therefore I look forward to offering legal guidance to SWSC as they move through the process of becoming a recognized Charity in Canada.

I am currently living in Toronto working as a nurse on a medicine floor at Mount Sinai Hospital. I strongly believe in the values of Same World Same Chance and the sustainability of this project. I discovered my love for Africa two years ago while volunteering teaching HIV/AIDS education in Ghana. I recently spent three months in assessing the heath-care situation in the Kibombomene community. I quickly realized the urgent need for a health clinic as I cared for patients with a wide range of medical issues with limited resources.
Cynthia Innes (Toronto, ON)

As a public relations consultant with Edelman Public Relations Worldwide Canada Ltd. in Toronto, I spend my days helping businesses communicate their stories effectively. Previously to Edelman, I worked in Malawi and Zambia as a communications coordinator with the international non-profit organization SIM International. I graduated from the University of Guelph-Humber with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Media Studies and a Diploma in Journalism, Print and Broadcast.
Elizabeth Walkom (Thunder Bay, ON)

As a recent graduate of Lakehead University's Bachelor of Education, I am inspiring students to reach their full potential. One of my goals as an educator is to encourage my students to become responsible global citizens. Before returning to university, I was employed as an environmental co-ordinator, working with school and the community to think globally by acting locally. I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History.
Jordan Brubacker (Victoria, BC)

I am currently working on my undergrad in physical geography, environmental studies and restoration of natural systems in Victoria, BC. At home I experiment with vegetable and fruit gardening on various scales. Interactions between human beings and ecosystems have always fascinated me, fuelling my interest in our capacity to experience a high quality of living while maintaining the health and resilience of the natural environment.
Mike Tarr (Ottawa, ON)
[email: tarr.mike@gmail.com]
I have a degree in political science and international development from Queen's University and am currently in Ottawa, where I work for the federal government. I enjoy studying languages, crossing cultural boundaries, and drinking too much coffee. I'm excited to be a part of the SWSC project because it's bursting at the seams with positive energy. I believe that collective, grassroots action can make a difference and that education is a great starting block.
